Science is the key to the future!

Mrs. G. Harris

A native of Barnesville and an honor graduate of Lamar County High School, Mrs. Harris attended the greatest college in the universe:  The University of Georgia on a full academic scholarship.  She graduated with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry.  She earned her master's degree in public administration from Keller Graduate School of Management (2006) and is currently enrolled at Capella University in pursuit of her doctorate degree with a specialization in curriculum & instruction.  As of June 2008, she has the distinction of "ABD" (All But Dissertation).

This is Mrs. Harris' fourth year teaching physical science at Mary Persons High School.  She previously taught chemistry as well.  Mrs. Harris is certified to teach AP (advanced placement) chemistry.  She has also worked in the Lamar County School system.  She believes that there is nothing more important than a love of learning.  Mrs. Harris expects the best of all of her students and will accept nothing less than a student's best.  The lucky students in her classroom can expect a challenging and rewarding learning experience.

She is married to her high school sweetheart, Kelsey Harris who teaches middle school physical science at Lamar County Middle School.  He is also an assistant varsity football coach and the head middle school basketball coach.  Together they have one daughter, Kelyse, the love of their lives,  who is a student at T.G.
